Bring masks, costumes, parade puppets and people together and you have a procession. I enjoy participating in several existing annual processions in the Portland area, facilitating processional arts workshops, and collaborating in the creation of new events.

Giant bear parade puppet for "A Winter Feast of Story & Song"
December 20, 2019, Portland, Oregon
8' puppet performed by three puppeteers. Paper mache (recycled newspaper and grocery bags, cellulose fiber) and burlap over armature made from recycled cardboard. Painted with charcoal pigment using a methylcellulose binder.

Mask Night is held on the final night of the annual Echoes in Time ancestral skills gathering, and both the opening procession and evening celebration feature many masks, costumes and puppets created by my Echoes in Time workshop participants.
